Witts, 24, was drafted to Collingwood with the 67th pick in the 2011 national draft, playing 40 senior games in his five seasons with the club.
Standing at 209cm and 111 kg, Witts adds additional depth to the club’s ruck stocks joining inaugural big man Tom Nicholls and Dan Currie in the ruck division at the SUNS.
General Manager – Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft confirmed Witt’s trade to the Gold Coast.
“We are delighted to have finalised a trade that will see Jarrod join the SUNS,” Ashcroft said.
“Jarrod was keen to join the SUNS and his relationship with Rocket was part of the reason behind him selecting us as his desired destination.
“We believe Jarrod’s has development in him and his addition will generate strong competition for the ruck role in 2017 and beyond.”
