Michael Hartley has officially joined the Hawks, after being selected in the 2019 pre-season draft.
Hartley has been training with the club since the start of pre-season, after declining a contract extension with the Bombers earlier this month.
The now-26-year-old spent two years on Collingwood’s rookie list in 2013-2014. Delisted after dual shoulder surgeries, Hartley fought his way back through Coburg’s VFL side and was eventually selected by Essendon with Pick 68 in the 2015 draft.
Making his debut in Round 2 2016, the defender went onto play 44 games for the Dons.
Standing at 198cm, Hartley will bolster Hawthorn’s key defensive stocks, joining the likes of James Frawley and Sam Frost.
